Work Experience Changes to the 482 Program
There has been a relaxation in the work experience requirements for 482 visas.
These changes include:
1. Work experience (under policy) needs to fall within the last five years. Informally this has been the case for some time but policy now reflects this.
2. Work experience does not need to be continuous and can be intermittent.
3. Work experience does not need to be full time (all it is preferred) and under the policy change casual work experience can be included if the experience is relevant to the occupation to which the visa relates. Referred to as informal work experience this can now be included if relevant.
It is important to note these are changes to the Departments policy and stricter work experience interpretations may still relate to skills assessments.
Queensland Reopens State Sponsored Program
Queensland has opened is 190 and 491 programs with 1200 places available.
One of the notable changes it's that a Registration of Interest is now required after lodging your EOI.
These places will be highly sort after and competitive so an early registration of interest is recommended.
