State Sponsored 491 and 190 visa
 
The Federal Government has given the State Governments a new allocation of subclass 190 and 491 sponsorship positions.
 
Each State will soon be opening their programs and new expressions of interest can be submitted for consideration.  Victoria has already opened with others to follow shortly.
 
Employer Sponsored Changes
 
It appears to us that the changes to the employer sponsored program, principally the switch from the 482 visa to the new Skills in Demand Visa will occur in November 2024. 
 
We encourage those in lower paid positions or those wanting to sponsor trades to do so before the change as the operation of the new system is likely to make this more difficult. 
 
We hope to see more detail of the new program released shortly.
