As many know there are streamlined pathways to permanent residency for NZ Citizens from 1 July 2023.  Accompanying that announcement was the change for children born to NZ Citizens in Australia.  

As of 1 July children born to a NZ Citizen permanently residing in Australia will be born an Australian citizen.  Only one parent needs to be a permanent resident NZ Citizen.
